The Comodo Research Lab performs state-of-the-art research work in several areas which support the company's development of security products and ensure it is a global leader. Comodo is internationally recognized for extensive research into the hardware implementation of RSA cryptography and for a number of major advances in the field.

Among these, Comodo Research Lab owns the patent rights to a randomized exponentiation algorithm called "Mist" which is particularly suitable for RSA applications in smartcards. It provides a key software solution as part of security measures against power analysis attacks. The company is in the process of setting up a web site for research results on this new algorithm.

Comodo Research Lab has an on-line research series, which provides external readers with publications and de-classified technical reports written by team members. This includes several papers about Mist.
